a101 - A Stunning Walnut and Maple Antique Italian Bedroom Suite, circa 1870
This is a very lovely and stunning antique Italian bedroom suite made of walnut and maple from around 1870. We have just taken delivery of this suite from direct from Italy and it is very beautiful indeed, viewing is highly recommended. The contrast between the darker walnut and the lighter maple wood is really very nice and unusual and the overall quality and craftsmanship is outstanding. It looks to have been in storage for a while so will need a good polish which is inclusive within our price. All five mirror glasses are original and in very good condition, the same for the four pieces of marble. The two single beds retain the four original siderails and could either be used as singles or joined together to make a large double bed. Provenance: We do not know the exact history of this set but it will have been made to order for the affluent owners of a large country house somewhere in Northern Italy which traditionally has been the wealthiest area of the country.
